This is a charming little toy coffee or chocolate set, decorated with red and pink rose transfers on all of the pieces except the saucers.
It is unmarked, but I believe that it was made in Germany. It consists of a coffee / chocolate server with lid, sugar bowl with lid, cream pitcher, two cookie plates and six cups & saucers. The coffee server measures 5" tall to the top of the open handle and about 5" wide from spout to handle. The little cup measures 1½" tall and the saucers vary from 2¼" to 2½" across. Like many of these older toy sets, the saucers are a little misshapen and the size isn't exactly the same on all of them. This is a small, dainty toy set.
The serving pieces, cookie plates and cups all have beautiful rose transfers on them. The transfers have faded a bit in spots and bits are missing, having been played with for many years. All of the pieces are trimmed in black, and the black shows wear on the rims.
Like so many of these older German sets, there are some factory flaws, glaze skips, etc. Please click on the pictures below for close-ups for condition and other details of this lovely little set!
Added note of interest: When I first purchased this set I was told that it was *thought* to be R.S. Prussia. I have no proof of this. I collect children's tea sets and kitchen items and know absolutely nothing about R.S. Prussia. I just thought if you were familiar with Prussia items you might want to investigate this set a little further.
